The Shops at Liberty Place Mural

The Shops at Liberty Place is a retail complex located in the heart of Center City that contains a mix of shops, services, and a large food court. The project’s goal was to design an eye-catching and “Instagrammable” mural representing Philadelphia to bring back the liveliness of Liberty Place since the pandemic. This is a spot where locals and visitors come together, and the mural would become an exciting addition to the space.

Working in a duo with another student named Fiona Tran, we were able to reflect the vibrance of the city’s culture through a bright color palette and original illustrations depicting not only Philadelphia but also what Liberty Place has to offer. The mural follows a gridded structure and has type and imagery float within the space, making it the perfect “Instagrammable” moment for anyone visiting the Shops at Liberty Place.
